Massage Therapy and Sciatica (3 CE hours)


Course Description
This course will enable you to identify the symptoms and different potential causes of sciatic pain, as well as massage applications that are known to be effective As Sciatica is a condition that deals with nerve and nerve-related pain we are going to spend the first chapter reviewing the nervous system. This is a review, but it goes deeper in-depth than the average massage school education, so it should prove beneficial. We will be reviewing the nervous system as a whole first, then the sciatic nerve in detail.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this home study continuing education course, the massage practitioner should be able to:

  • Define the term Sciatica.
  • List the suspected causes of Sciatica.
  • Describe what symptoms to expect from clients suffering from Sciatica.
