Course Description
The purpose of this program is to provide massage therapists with information about the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), especially as it relates to providing massage treatment in a medical office, such as with a Chiropractor or Physical Therapist. It also provides a refresher of basic confidentiality ethics.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this home study continuing education course, the massage practitioner should be able to:

  • Describe the intent of HIPAA.
  • Identify potential breaches of confidentiality in a massage practice.
  • Implement professional practices that protect client privacy.
