Conditions of the Nervous System for Massage Therapists (3 CE hours)


Course Description
In this course, you will be reviewing the most common conditions of the Nervous system that you might encounter in your massage practice. This course includes a review of the workings of the nervous system that goes into deeper detail than the short chapters on the nervous system included in most massage core curriculum texts. Specific conditions are addressed, including the effect of massage therapy on the conditions.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this home study continuing education course, the massage practitioner should be able to:

  • List three movement disorders.
  • Identify the nerve involved in the condition of Bell palsy.
  • Describe the possible causes of chronic numbness.
  • Name three different types of nervous system disorders.
