Course Description
This course will enable you to identify the symptoms and different potential causes of sciatic pain, as well as massage applications that are known to be effective As Sciatica is a condition that deals with nerve and nerve-related pain we are going to spend the first chapter reviewing the nervous system. This is a review, but it goes deeper in-depth than the average massage school education, so it should prove beneficial. We will be reviewing the nervous system as a whole first, then the sciatic nerve in detail.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this home study continuing education course, the massage practitioner should be able to:

  • Define the term Sciatica.
  • List the suspected causes of Sciatica.
  • Describe what symptoms to expect from clients suffering from Sciatica.

This course is presented for educational purposes only. It was developed and marketed specifically for massage therapists that are required to obtain continuing education hours for licensing purposes. The author is not giving medical, legal or other professional advice.

This course is classified as “Cognitive” learning, meaning that there is no hands-on portion.

12 Hour Daily Limit
Please be advised that our school limits our students to 12 hours of continuing education per day (four of our 3-hour courses). So if you need 36 hours of continuing education be prepared to space it out over three days.
