Course Description
This course is a review of the diseases of the heart, blood, and blood vessels. It also includes a review of the function of pulmonary circulation, including the oxygenation of blood. Given the significant impact of massage therapy on the circulatory processes of the body this course is a useful source of information for the massage therapist.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this home study continuing education course, the massage practitioner should be able to:

  • Define hemophilia.
  • Identify the difference between a heart attack and heart failure.
  • List six different conditions of the cardiovascular system.
  • Identify two conditions of the cardiovascular system that are absolute contraindications for massage.
