Welcome to Conditions of the Cardiovascular System for Massage Therapists
My name is Michael and I am your NCBTMB Approved continuing education provider. Thanks for taking my course!
To earn your 3 hours of continuing education credit you must read this course (easy) and then take a short quiz on what you read (less easy, but honestly, still not hard).
Taking the quiz
You will find the link to take the quiz at the end of the course.
This continuing education course has been designed to meet the educational needs of massage therapists.
Degree of Difficulty
Text (written material)
This course is a review of the diseases of the heart, blood, and blood vessels. It also includes a review of the function of pulmonary circulation, including the oxygenation of blood. Given the significant impact of massage therapy on the circulatory processes of the body this course is a useful source of information for the massage therapist.
Upon completion of this home study continuing education course, the massage practitioner should be able to:
- Define hemophilia.
- Identify the difference between a heart attack and heart failure.
- List six different conditions of the cardiovascular system.
- Identify two conditions of the cardiovascular system that are absolute contraindications for massage.
This course is presented for educational purposes only. It was developed and marketed specifically for massage therapists that are required to obtain continuing education hours for licensing purposes. The author is not giving medical, legal or other professional advice.
This course is classified as “Cognitive” learning, meaning that there is no hands-on portion.
12 Hour Daily Limit
Please be advised that our school limits our students to 12 hours of continuing education per day (four of our 3-hour courses). So if you need 36 hours of continuing education be prepared to space it out over three days.
