Course Description
This course is designed to offer a detailed introduction to the condition known as Post-traumatic stress disorder (or PTSD) and to demonstrate the potential benefits of massage therapy for individuals suffering from it.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this home study continuing education course, the massage practitioner should be able to:

  • Define the term posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
  • List the three symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder.
  • List five physiological effects of PTSD that can be treated with massage therapy.
  • Describe the potential benefits of massage therapy in people that suffer from posttraumatic stress disorder.
